JPMorgan Indian, managed by Rukhshad Schroff and Rajendra Nair, has released its interim results covering the six months to the end of March 2014. JPMorgan Indian beat its benchmark over the period, generating a total return of 18.7% versus a 15.9% return on the MSCI India Index. Shareholders did even better however as the discount narrowed, helping propel the total shareholder return to 20.9%. The manager attributes the outperformance to overweight positions in financials and consumer discretionary stocks relative to the benchmark Index.
