Riverstone Energy has announced that Eagle Energy Exploration LLC (known as Eagle II) has invested $195m to acquire 20,000 acres in Alfalfa, Grant and Woods counties in Oklahoma. These properties are currently producing hydrocarbons from the Mississippi Lime geological formation.

The founders of Eagle Energy, Steve Antry (CEO and Chairman), Michael O’Kelley (President and COO) and Ben Kemendo (CFO), set up a previous venture, Eagle Energy Company of Oklahoma LLC, which acquired acreage and was one of the largest producers in the formation before selling out to MidStates Petroleum in 2012.
