Three years ago, James Smith joined the team managing Premier Energy and Water Trust (PEW). His appointment was followed by a seismic shift in approach, which has led to a significant uplift in performance as well as an improved focus on risk. PEW now offers a differentiated investment approach with a substantial weighting to high growth emerging markets and its split capital structure allows for both an enhanced yield and capital gearing. PEW’s shares have recently been trading at a small premium, allowing it to issue ordinary shares and ZDPs to satisfy demand.
UPDATE : Premier Global Infrastructure, PGIT (formerly Premier Energy and Water, PEW) aims to achieve a high income and to realise long-term growth in the capital value of its portfolio. It invests principally in equity and equity-related securities of companies operating in the energy and water sectors, as well as other infrastructure investments and invests in both developed and emerging markets to capitalise on the opportunities in the utility markets.
